How To Prevent Your Wife Nagging By Fixing These Simple Things Around Your House

One of the most energy sucking problems you can have in a home is leaks. Leaks can make your home feel drafty and cold. Since you feel more cold, you would use more energy to warm up your house and therefore increase your energy bills. To determine if your home feels drafty you should look around your home and find out where these leaks are coming in. Search around doors and windows to see if these areas are in need of sealing. There are a plethora of products in your local hardware shop to keep your home more energy efficient. For example, spray foam, plastic, caulk, foam, tape and other products to seal these gaps around your home. These items do a perfect job in insulating your home and make you feel more comfortable.

To investigate where to find where the air leaks in your home is to go around areas such as doors, vents, registers, windows, baseboards and don't forget to check your fireplace (if you have one). Afterwards, check around areas like the basement and attic and at the same time make sure there is enough insulation in these areas. Then check other sources in your home.

For doors, use weather stripping to seal the gaps. If you applied it right, weather stripping will not interfere with the opening and closing of the door. Caulking is an affordable seal that can be applied to seal up any cracks or openings.

Make sure you do regular checks of your house every year for new crack and places that can get air leaks. These can be fixed very quickly and can save you a lot of money in energy bills.
